MESTA PARK NEIGHBORHOOD NOTICE: ACTION NEEDED [Notice Dated May 29, 2019]

OKC Dept of Parks & Recreation has been notified by the OKC Fire Department that they cannot get their ladder trucks through some of Mesta Park’s streets due to low hanging limbs from our neighborhood trees.  With the excessive rainfall we’ve received since late last Summer, it is not surprising that our neighborhood trees are fuller and greener than ever.

According to the City municipal code, street trees are the responsibility of the property owner and must maintain clearance of a minimum of 15’.  The City takes concerns expressed by the OCFD very seriously – and will give our neighborhoods (Mesta Park and Heritage Hills) ONE WEEK to trim the offending tree limbs.

If they are not trimmed by the property owner, the OKC Parks & Recreation Dept will begin trimming the trees AND BACK BILL THE PROPERTY OWNERS.  The Parks Dept advises that this may not be our cheapest alternative so it would be wise to do some research to find less expensive tree trimmers if you are concerned about your trees. Thank you!
