22ND ANNUAL MESTA FESTA TO BE HELD SEPTEMBER 24

The Mesta Park Neighborhood Association presents the 2017 Mesta Festa, which will take place Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Perle Mesta Park, located at NW 18th and Shartel Ave.

Mesta Festa is free and open to the public, and will include a beer and wine garden, outdoor games like bocce ball and kubb, arts and crafts, live music and dance performances, sand volleyball, local artist and pop-up shopping booths, as well as food trucks. Funds raised at Mesta Festa benefit the Mesta Park Neighborhood Association, contributing a significant portion to its annual budget.

Admission to the beer and wine garden requires a wristband, which will be available for purchase at the entrance to the garden for $20 per person. (Only those 21 years of age and older may enter the beer and wine garden.) Mesta Festa t-shirts will also be available for sale on the day of the event. Cash and credit cards will be accepted.

UPTOWN FUN(5)K IN MESTA PARK ON SEPTEMBER 24

Uptown 23rd District Association is excited to work with Mesta Park on Uptown’s first ever fun run! We will start and finish our race at the edge of the Uptown District, 22nd and Shartel. Runners will head east on 22nd, and turn south on Robinson to wind back through the historic, tree-lined streets of Mesta Park and Heritage Hills. A detailed race map is located at www.uptown23rd.com/5k. After the race, runners will head to Mesta Festa to celebrate. Runners will be in Mesta Park for the event from 9:30am to 11:00am on Sunday, September 24th.

Uptown 23rd is working closely with the City of OKC and your Mesta Festa planning committee to be sure we have appropriate safety and traffic control options in place.

This is one of the first runs of the fall season in Oklahoma City. Our friend, Bronda Williams of Precision Timing Solutions, will manage this chip-timed, USATF certified race. All ages are welcome, and runners who are 21+ receive a special deal on their run registration: a wristband to the Mesta Festa beer garden!

Thanks to Mesta Festa, we have an awesome after-race party. Plus, there are awards, swag bags for our runners and some other fun surprises in store. We’ll see you all there!
